NVIDIA Announces War Thunder Integration of DLSS 5 Neural Rendering for November Update

Gaijin Entertainment will add NVIDIA's 3D-Guided Neural Rendering model to War Thunder in a mid-November patch titled Eagle's Shadow, NVIDIA announced. The update is expected to arrive within the next two weeks and will include new planes, ships, tanks, cluster bombs, and visual effect enhancements.

NVIDIA reported that the Neural Rendering technology focuses on improving highlights, shadows, materials, and microcontrast. When combined with ray tracing, DLSS Ray Reconstruction, and 6X Frame Generation, War Thunder can reach up to 400 frames per second at 4K resolution, according to the company. This performance figure assumes the use of a flagship GeForce RTX 5090 GPU with DLSS Super Resolution set to Performance Mode.

War Thunder is one of three games receiving official DLSS 5 integration this month. Avalanche Software's Hogwarts Legacy will also support the technology, allowing the game to reach up to 300 FPS at 4K resolution on a GeForce RTX 5090 when all DLSS features and ray tracing are enabled. To preserve "character identity," Avalanche Software will mask character faces and use the Neural Rendering model to improve environmental detail, shadows, texture detail, shading, lighting, and reflections.

Everstone Studio's action RPG Where Winds Meet is scheduled to receive DLSS 5 support on November 23 or 24, depending on the player's region. The DLSS 5 options will be available to all GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs and laptops, RTX Spark PCs, and GeForce NOW Ultimate subscribers via the cloud.
